Moleculin Provides Update on Coronavirus Drug Development

HOUSTON, May 27, 2020 — Moleculin Biotech, Inc., (Nasdaq: MBRX) (“Moleculin” or the “Company”), a clinical stage pharmaceutical company with a broad portfolio of drug candidates targeting highly resistant tumors and viruses, today announced that the US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) has granted the Company’s request for a Pre-IND Meeting to provide guidance regarding the Company’s plan to study its drug candidate, WP1122, in a clinical trial for patients with COVID-19 (the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus). In addition, Moleculin provided a general update on its WP1122 development efforts.
