CSPC PHARMACEUTICAL GROUP LIMITED (Incorporated in Hong Kong with limited liability) (Stock Code: 1093) ʮ ̡ VOLUNTARY ANNOUNCEMENT VALSARTAN LEVOAMLODIPINE MALEATE TABLETS OBTAINS CLINICAL TRIAL APPROVAL The board of directors (the ‘‘Board ’’) of CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Limited (the ‘‘Company ’’, together with its subsidiaries, the ‘‘Group ’’) is pleased to announce that the Valsartan Levoamlodipine Maleate Tablets (the ‘‘Product ’’) developed by the Group has obtained approval granted by the National Medical Products Administration of the People ’s Republic of China to conduct clinical trials in China. The Product is the world ’s first new compound preparation approved for clinical tria ls, composed of valsartan and levoamlodipine maleate. Valsart an and amlodipine represent angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) and calcium channel b locker (CCB), respectively, both of which are antihypertensive drugs with clear mechani sms of action. There is extensive clinical experience in using both drugs in combin ation. The indication for this clinical trial approval is primary mild and moderate hypert ension that cannot be effectively controlled by monotherapy. Compared with monotherapy for h ypertension, the Product provides clinical development value in respect of efficacy and safety.
