Daewoong Pharm Co., Ltd.(representative Lee Jong Wuk) said that they launched ‘NOVOSIS-DENT’, new concept bio fusion medical instrument grafting synthetic bone to rhBMP-2(Recombinant Human Bone Morp-hogenetic Protein-2) on 12. NOVOSIS-DENT is effective for the patients with poor gum bone on the implant surgery. When injecting NOVOSIS to gum bone, the bone is built strongly and so implant is fixed fast, reducing healing period greatly. Senior patients who have difficulty in implant surgery due to weak alveolar bone also can become taking surgery. Main ingredient of NOVOSIS-DENT, ‘rhBMP-2’ overcomes weak point of existing bone substitutes of which bone formation are weak and promotes bone formation around missing bone with protein inducing stem cell with bone cell. Since the original products is high price and has difficulty in acquiring safety by fixing BMP-2 at necessary area, they didn’t come into the domestic market. NOVOSIS-DENT uses multi-pore ceramic supporter instead of collagen sponge of the original product for the material conveying BMP-2 to the human body in order to compensate the weak point and improves side effect of forming bone up to undesired area by flowing out BMP-2 when pressured. Daewoong Pharm, in the result of proceeding clinical test at 6 medical institutes across the nation such as dental collage of Seoul National University, found that it reduced the healing period half when Maxillary sinus augmentation and showed excellent new bone formation effect over 2 times compared with control group. Also, compared with the original product which is over a million won, it was said that it would help many patients with low price. This NOVOSIS-DENT development was proceeded by Prof. Lee Chun Gi team(orthopedics) of medical school of Seoul National University and Prof. Hwang Sung Jung team(oral and maxillofacial surgery), dental collage of Seoul National University from the early stage of research proposal in 2004.
