CSPC PHARMACEUTICAL GROUP LIMITED ʮ̡ (Incorporated in Hong Kong under the Companies Ordinance) (Stock Code: 1093) VOLUNTARY ANNOUNCEMENT ANTI-TUMOR NANODRUG “EPIRUBICIN HYDROCHLORIDE LIPOSOME INJECTION” WAS GRANTED CLINICAL TRIAL APPROVAL The board of directors (the “ Board ”) of CSPC Pharmaceutical Group Limited (the “ Company ”, together with its subsidiaries, the “ Group ”) is pleased to announce that “Epirubicin Hydrochloride Liposome Injection” (the “ Product ”) developed by CSPC Zhongqi Pharmaceutical Technology (Shijiazhuang) Co., Ltd.* ʮ̡, a subsidiary of the Company, was granted approval by the National Medical Products Administr ation of the People’s Republic of China to conduct clinical trials in China. The Product is able to reduce the distribution of drug in norma l tissues by encapsulating the active ingredient epirubicin hydrochloride in PEGylated liposome and a chieve targeting to tumor area with the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect. Comp ared to conventional injection, the Product can significantly reduce the toxic side-effects and enhance the efficacy. The planned indication of the Product is solid tumors. Based on the results of non-clinical studies, the Product has a promising prospect of demonstrating good anti-tumor effic acy in the clinical trials. “Epirubicin Hydrochloride Liposome Injection” is a class 2 chem ical drug and currently there is no product of the same type available in the global market.
