Daewoong Pharmaceutical Presented Superiority of Enavogliflozin at 84th ADA Scientific Sessions Daewoong Pharmaceutical (CEOs Chang-jae Lee, Seongsoo Park) announced at the 84th American Diabetes Association (ADA) Scientific Session that its diabetes drug, Enavogliflozin, demonstrated superior blood glucose control over the global diabetes medication dapagliflozin in type 2 diabetes patients with mild kidney disease. This finding provides compelling clinical evidence of its efficacy. Professor Lyu Young-sang from Chosun University Hospital, who led the presentation, emphasized that Enavogliflozin outperformed dapagliflozin, the first-ever global SGLT-2 inhibitor. This Korean SGLT-2 inhibitor proved to be a better treatment option based on comparative studies. Key diabetes management indicators—including fasting blood glucose (FPG), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), urinary glucose excretion (UGCR), and insulin resistance indicator (HOMA-IR)—were all significantly better in the Enavogliflozin group. After 24 weeks of treatment, 78.1% of patients on Enavogliflozin achieved an HbA1c level below 7%, compared to 65.7% for dapagliflozin. Enavogliflozin also reduced fasting blood glucose more effectively and increased glucose excretion in urine by 31%, showing about a 60% greater improvement in insulin resistance. Professor Park Chul-young of Kangbuk Samsung Hospital, co-author, noted, “This study confirms that Enavogliflozin is particularly effective in patients with impaired kidney function, underlining the need for further clinical trials in patients with advanced kidney issues, given its significant impact on urinary glucose excretion compared to dapagliflozin.” CEO Chang-jae Lee of Daewoong Pharmaceutical stated, "The recognition of our Korean developed Enavogliflozin in the U.S. is significant. Encouraged by this international interest, we will continue our clinical research to underscore Enavogliflozin's competitiveness." # # # Forward-Looking Statements This press release contains forward-looking statements that are based on the current beliefs and expectations of Daewoong Pharmaceutical's management.
